Homeless dog named Rupee became the first officially registered dog, which managed to climb to a height of more than five thousand meters to the base camp on the way to the summit of Mount Everest.
Owner Joanne Lefson with her pet began climbing Mount Everest on October 14, and after 13 days they reached the base camp.
Joanne Lefson picked up a homeless puppy in a landfill in Ladakh in northern India, cured the dog, and after consultation with a veterinarian decided to take a hike with him.
When Joanna first saw Rupee, he was an eight-month old puppy dying from dehydration and malnutrition. Of course, the woman could not leave the animal that could barely move, and soon Rupee got to the doctor, and then went to live with Joanna.
“I hope that his achievement will cause people to be kinder to animals, especially the homeless. We must understand that every life has value, “- she said.
