These playful graphic prints by graphic designer, filmmaker and artist Safwat Saleem are quite entertaining. Coupled is a series that features relationships between two inanimate objects or cartoons that are interacting with each other in very unexpected ways. The two-color designs incorporate simple silhouettes paired with clever captions that give surprising meaning to each scene. Through just a few simple words, Saleem gives personality to the otherwise non-speaking, sedentary things.

Hang on. I just want to talk.
A fish says “Must…Resist…” as he lingers too close to a fishhook, a sun “LOL”s as a snowman melts below, and a friendly ghost chases Pac-Man, saying “Hang on, I just want to talk.” According to Saleem’s project statement, “These prints were made for a love-themed exhibit that opened in February 2013 at the 6th Avenue Gallery in downtown Phoenix.” Most of the moments will make you chuckle while some of them will have you feeling sympathy for the lonely objects.

American Indians have achieved a lot in defending their rights for land and a full role in society. However, due to the long extermination of Native Americans they suffered the integrity of their culture. Today, Indians are struggling to preserve and revive their traditions and language. The older generation is struggling to get their children and grandchildren to combine modern lifestyle and cultural traditions of their people. The Indians are well aware of their spiritual connection with the ancestors, turning to them for help and support. For the Indians there is no death of the individual: the ancestors live in them, and they will continue to live in their children.

One of the traditions of the Indians is the meeting of different tribes once a year at the festival, “Pow Wow”, in which representatives from each tribe sit in a circle and sing a tribe song. In the photo: Boys from St. Paul, Minn., during the annual celebration of Kyi-Yo Pow-wow at a university in Montana in Missoula, Montana.

While parents are busy with their chores during the fair Crow tribe, the young Indians entertain as they dive into the Little Bighorn River, near where in 1876. occurred legendary battle between the Indians and the U.S. cavalry. The battle ended with the Indians killed five attackers in American Regiment.

Even young Indians are able to easily handle the horses. In the photo: The young members of the tribe bathe the horses in the Little Bighorn River during the fair Ravens in Montana.

Place of laying the foundation of one of the buildings of the university, where they will study the culture of the indigenous peoples of America, illuminated by a local lad and sprinkled tobacco.

Shamanism and totemism live only in the tribes that live in the remote area of the United States. Currently, among the faithful Indians are more prevalent Catholics, Mormons, Adventists, and Pentecostals. In the photo: Janice Singer while serving Pentecostal Reservation tribe Ravens.

The total number of Native Americans – more than 60 million people. But the meeting of tribesmen on the road can still be considered a reason to stop and talk. In the photo: Clinton Byrd takes out a cigarette, to talk with his friend Courtney Stewart and discuss a new car body repair center in their area.

Very picturesque nature sites in Indian Reservation. One gets the feeling that landscapes are the same as were before the white man came. Photo: Horses near the site of the Battle of Little Bighorn.

Traditional dance competitions, costumes and various competitions at the fair during the festival “Pow Wow” help preserve the cultural heritage of American Indians.
